List of Laboratory Accreditations

All international Biosciences’ paternity and relationship DNA tests are carried
out at a laboratory accredited by the AABB and accredited in accordance with the
recognised International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005 by a signatory to the ILAC
arrangement. The Department of Standards Malaysia (Standards Malaysia) is a signatory to
the ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement.

Why Do You Need To Know About Accreditation And Accuracy?

Accreditation is your assurance of a laboratory’s capabilities and technical competence. An accreditation is awarded to a laboratory only after it is has been thoroughly assessed for its competence based on standard procedure guidelines. The assessment is normally carried out by third party assessors who will evaluate all the factors in the laboratory that will influence the final production of the test result. In order to obtain an international level of accreditation, a DNA testing laboratory needs to have passed rigorous inspections, auditing and consistently showed the necessary level of technical expertise in carrying out tests. Using an accredited laboratory means that you can be assured of the quality, accuracy and reliability of your test.

What are the Most Recognized Forms of Accreditation?

The two most widely recognized accreditation bodies are the ISO17025 and the AABB. The ISO 17025 accreditation is a quality assurance system compliant with international ISO quality standards. All processes are subject to regular independent external monitoring ensuring results of the highest standard. The AABB (American Association of Blood Banks) is another important accreditation that is recognized worldwide as ensuring that the laboratory processes are of the highest standards. Using an accredited DNA testing laboratory will ensure that your paternity test is of the highest quality, therefore guaranteeing that your results will be both highly accurate and reliable.
